The Museum of the Slovincian Village is situated in the Kluki village near the Lebsko lake about 41 kilometres to the north of Slupsk, Poland. This is an affiliate of the Middle Pomerania Museum in Slupsk situated in the Slovincian National Park belonging to UNESCO's World Network of Biosphere Reserves since 1977. In the summertime, folk events with bread-baking, peat-digging and horse-in-boots shows are held in the museum.
The museum in Kluki was brought to life in 1963 as a museum farm. The museum is located in the centre of the village where buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries with three remaining in situ farms were present. Leaving remaining farms in place and reconstructing ones moved to living places used in the past allowed to keep Kluki as an example of rural development with buildings at both sides of the main road. The museum area is about 10 ha where about 20 objects are located, including 7 login cabins, 7 cowsheds, 2 stables, 2 bread ovens, boat and fishing tackle warehouse and fishing shelter. Kluki developed from 4 separate villages: Kluki Smoldzinskie, Kluki Zelewskie, Kluki Cieminskie and Pawelki. It is situated on the right shore of the Lebsko lake near the Pustynka river mouth.
All the villages were formed from single huts often put up on small hills which were a safe place that protected them from floods during the springtime. At first, single farms were a living place for cattle breeders and fishermen. Kluki Smoldzinskie, the only village that has remained up to this day, have their origins closely associated with Smoldzin. At the end of the 16th century, proprietors of the village – the Tessen family – built huts on the shore of the Lebsko lake for their employees who took care of their cattle. After that, another buildings put up: stables, cowsheds. The village was called Otok (Wottok) but cartographer Lubinus placed it on his map as Wittock in 1614.
