Park of Culture and Leisure
Slupsk plants
Another part of the plants is a park between Wladysława Jagielly and Jana Pawla II Streets – now known as Jerzego Waldorffa Park. The south edge of this area, called the hill Jagniece (eng. Lamb Hill) in the 19th century, was levelled and planted with trees in 1849. Later, a rose garden was established and, in 1912, Gothic-style St George's Hospital Chapel was put up there. Now, you will find Blogosławionego Bronisława Kostkowskiego Square in that place. From a side of the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle, the plants link with a little green band – remains of a castle garden established by duchess Erdmuta at the beginning of the 17th century.
